Manage and share product data efficiently

Several trade associations for the construction, industrial and installation industry have made agreements to support and accelerate the digitisation within their respective industries. On the 29th of November, Builders’ Hardware (HVS, Hang- en Sluitwerk), the association for manufacturers of Ironware and Tools (IJG, IJzerwaren en Gereedschappen), Chain Standard Construction and Technique (Ketenstandaard Bouw en Techniek) and HIBIN signed a covenant.

Trade associations take concrete steps towards digitisation and ETIM classification

As a member of the IJG and co-initiator, Berdal is involved in the workgroup data processing. In close collaboration with Royal Hibin (Koninklijke Hibin), network of construction supply, we came to a treaty to supply and use product information according to ETIM standards. This means all members are able to manage and distribute product information efficiently to customers worldwide. This enables them to streamline digital processes more easily.

Our role in the digitisation of the construction chain

Both the Dutch and the international construction industry is facing several challenges in which manufacturers play a crucial part when it comes to sustainability, digitisation, accelerated construction processes and improved logistics. The optimisation of digital collaboration is an essential part.

Being a manufacturer and supplier, Berdal plays an important role as a source of information. We bear the responsibility for adding and monitoring relevant product data. We deliver these data to our customers digitally in standardised formats. This agreement increases our commitment to high-quality information provision and advanced digitisation within our industry even more.
