We take the environmental impact of our production and processes into account in every investment and policy decision. In 2018, for example, we opted for a new brand of injection moulding machines, which has already significantly reduced our CO2 emissions. Internally, all our transport is now electric, and we purchase as much green energy as possible for this purpose. These steps demonstrate that we take sustainability seriously and are committed to continuously reducing our environmental impact.
Our new injection moulding machines consume 12-14% less energy than the machines we used previously. This saves us approximately 1,000,000 kWh per year. As a result, our total energy consumption has fallen from 8 million to 7 million kWh per year. This is comparable to the consumption of approximately 350 households.
Although we consume less energy, total energy costs have risen due to higher tariffs. The next step is further optimisation of energy consumption and strategic energy procurement.
