Working together to build sustainable business

We have been working on future-proof business operations since the 1990s. But to make a real impact, we look beyond our own organisation. Issues such as sustainability, circularity and corporate social responsibility do not stand alone, but create opportunities and challenges throughout the entire chain. By working together and learning from each other, we take employees, suppliers and partners to the next level.

What is the Code of Conduct?

We have compiled a new Code of Conduct. This code of conduct outlines the minimum conditions we want to comply with in our chain. It describes the principles and values that apply to Berdal and that we also expect from our direct and indirect suppliers.

The Code helps us and our suppliers to work together more effectively and to continuously improve our activities. We offer guidance on implementing corrective measures and demonstrate the concrete actions we are taking in the areas of ethical behaviour, the environment and people.

Benefits for our partners

  • Assurance that processes and products comply with social, environmental and ethical standards.
  • Transparency about compliance with the code of conduct throughout the chain.
  • Support in achieving your own CSR goals.
  • A strong message to customers, showing that you choose reliable and more sustainable partners.
Code of Conduct

People

We encourage a healthy lifestyle for our employees. For example, by discouraging overtime and encouraging cycling. Everyone also has equal opportunities, rights and obligations, regardless of gender, race or religion.

We do not do business with parties that violate these values. Within our supply chain, we strive for a healthy, safe and fair working environment. We also expect our suppliers to treat their employees fairly and with respect.

Environment

To move towards a circular economy, we opt for fully recycled materials wherever possible. In this way, we reduce waste streams and promote reuse. We take the environmental impact of our production and processes into account in every investment and policy decision. For example, our internal transport is fully electric.

Our procedures for waste management, handling of hazardous substances, emissions and wastewater comply with the minimum legal standards. Our suppliers must also comply with environmental permits and take responsibility for preventing damage to the environment.

Business ethics

A guiding principle in all our activities and decision-making processes is the promotion of ethical behaviour. From encouraging fair competition to combating bribery. The privacy and protection of suppliers' employees' data are also addressed.

Joint responsibility for a sustainable chain

We are proud to say that 98% of our suppliers have now signed our Code of Conduct. Together, we are strengthening the basis for a fair, safe and sustainable chain and continuing to build future-proof business operations.

Let's build together.
